Frequently Asked Questions (Tutors)

You have questions.  We have the answers.

Can I work for Tutoring Tree and tutor on my own?

Yes,

If you have acquired clients on your own, we have no restrictions with you continuing with them and working with us. If you are teaching Extended Day, you can work with us any other day you are interested in. You are able to choose the days, times and subject areas you work.

Once I sign up with Tutoring Tree do I start working immediately?

We will try and get you working as fast as possible. A lot of it depends on the time of year, what area you are located in and subject(s) you can tutor.

Please e-mail afleeman@tutoringtree.org if you have not heard from us in a week or so. Please include in your e-mail what subject areas, grade levels and what schools you would be willing to acquire clients from. Feel free to always call or e-mail to check your status.

Is registering as a tutor on the website all I need to complete to start working?

No,

There are a few items other than registering that need to be completed before you can start with a client. A list of the items is below. These forms can be found on our website.

Go to www.tutoringtree.org/PrivateSchool  and click on the green icon “My Profile/My Account”. Here you can:

1. Update your “My Information” page with any changes like a phone number, e-mail or home address. It is very important to keep this updated so we know how to contact you.

2. Review your personal tutoring “Calendar”. If a session is missing on your calendar or has been changed because you or a student had to cancel, please notify afleeman@tutoringtree.org  You are responsible for keeping JoAnn informed of any scheduling changes that you and the parent make. We ask the parents to keep Tutoring Tree informed about cancellations or session changes but they usually only contact the tutor. Please help by keeping us informed.

3. Send and view “Progress Reports”.  Please be aware that your signed Tutoring Tree contract states you must send a Progress Report within 24 hours of the tutoring session. This is how you will be paid for the session, not by what is scheduled on your calendar due to many cancellations and rescheduling issues.  Your Progress Report verifies that you were tutoring a session so you will be paid for reports that are on your “My Profile” page. Please review these reports before the 15th of every month to make sure they are all accounted for before payroll goes out! Read over the “How To Guide” before sending a report. Make sure you click on the correct date and time of session. If you send a report and receive an “ERROR MESSAGE”, please copy and paste it to an e-mail to afleeman@tutoringtree.org . The problem will be resolved much quicker if we can read what the error actually states on the displayed page.

4.Look through the “Forms” section. Carefully read, sign and send a copy of the Tutoring Tree Agreement/Contract and a W9 form to Tutoring

Tree. It is your responsibility to read and review the Tutoring Tree Guides and forms. If you have any questions, contact Lauren @ 770-886-3220

or e-mail JoAnn.

5. You do not have to get a Background Check if you are currently employed with the county. If you are not currently employed a Background

check is required. Call to get information regarding this.

6. Lastly, when e-mailing Lauren or JoAnn; please refer to your clients with their first and last name so we can access their file quickly.

When and How do I get paid?

Our payment cycle runs from the 16th to the 15th of the following month. In order to be paid for your sessions, you must submit our online “Daily Progress Report” after each session within 24hrs. That is the only way we know that the session took place and how much to pay you each pay period. Your check will be mailed to your home 3 to 5 business days after the 15th. If you do not receive your check, you will need to contact JoAnn to find out if there was an issue.

How do I know how to send the Daily Progress Report form?

Step by step instructions for sending this form are found on our website (http://www.tutoringtree.org). You must be registered as a tutor to get this information. You will log in, go to “My Profile/My Account” and click on GUIDES. You will find the instructions there.

Who do I contact if I need to switch, cancel or change a scheduled session?

Please contact Lauren or JoAnn at the Tutoring Tree number (770-886-3220) if you need to cancel a session. It is not a good idea to e-mail this but if you do, please send it directly toafleeman@tutoringtree.org and make sure you have received a confirmation back from us that we saw the e-mail.

If you are switching dates or need to change a scheduled session, please e-mail that information directly to JoAnn and reference the client with first and last name and dates not days you need to change.

We are very glad to have you working with us and will do everything in our power to make this a great and positive opportunity for you!
